There’s always going to be bad stuff out there. But here’s the amazing thing—light trumps darkness, every time. You stick a candle into the dark, but you can’t stick the dark into the light.

There are times when gloom or darkness causes us to momentarily lose sight of the light… It is at these times when the thought of the sun can help us. Its warm, glowing rays brighten even our thoughts, and it’s good to remember that despite appearances, the sun is shining right now. We may not be able to see it at this very moment, but if clouds block our view, they are only filtering the sun’s light temporarily. If darkness has fallen, we know that the sun is still shining at this very moment somewhere not too far away, and it’s only a matter of time before it will shine on us again.

It is during our darkest moments that we must focus to see the light.

Allow Your Own Inner Light to Guide You

2011happiness:

There comes a time when you must stand alone.
You must feel confident enough within yourself to follow your own dreams.

You must be willing to make sacrifices.

You must be capable of changing and rearranging your priorities so that your final goal can be achieved.

Sometimes, familiarity and comfort need to be challenged.

There are times when you must take a few extra chances and create your own realities.

Be strong enough to at least try to make your life better.

Be confident enough that you won’t settle for a compromise just to get by.

Appreciate yourself by allowing yourself the opportunities to grow, develop, and find your true sense of purpose in this life.

Don’t stand in someone else’s shadow when it’s your sunlight that should lead the way.

It doesn’t matter how long we may have been stuck in a sense of our limitations. If we go into a darkened room and turn on the light, it doesn’t matter if the room has been dark for a day, a week, or ten thousand years — we turn on the light and it is illuminated. Once we control our capacity for love and happiness, the light has been turned on.

one does not become enlightened by imagining figures of light, but by making the darkness conscious.

Thoughts on Manifesting a Vision… literally.
I’ve seen effulgent light since I can remember being alive.  It happened a lot when I was a kid, and as an adult, it happens super powerfully from time to time when I’m meditating, or in nature, or at Strala.
Our studio Strala, means to radiate light in Swedish (unknown to Mike and I when he helped come up with a name we thought we invented by mushing Strength, Balance, and Awareness. No one I know has Swedish ties, until lately, when the NY Times of Sweden wrote this lovely article about Strala in Dagnes Nyheter.  My Mom called out that Strala is also every letter in my name (middle name is Leann).
Effulgent:
1. Shining brightly; radiant
2. (of a person or their expression) Emanating joy or goodness
Strala:
1.  To radiate light (in the cosmos)
2.  To radiate happiness (joy)
My good friend Tao Porchon Lynch always says Strala is full of joy and everyone in it is filled with joy.  My mission is to do what I need to continue to facilitate joy for as many people as possible, because we all need a little joy in our lifes, a little Effulgent, radiant light, shining through us, inside us, and around us.
The moral of my non-lineral story is that when you have a vision, if it’s one that you see literally or is more of a feeling or intuition, or all of it, keep following it.  It is a special gift, that when cultivated, is as beautiful as a sustainable, ever-present rainbow fully equipped with a giant pot of sparkly gold.
When you follow the thread in your intentions, the entire world, the people in it, and the universe will be on your side to also achieve this vision.  These visions are energy that we all are rooting for to be tangible and have come from a sustainable source larger than our brains and sheer will.
The idea that the entire universe will carry your vision into fruition is only true when your intentions are set on helping others. If your vision is cloudy, selfish, or muddled, you’ll feel a struggle, a sense of pushing, forcing, and fighting.  You might get far, but you also might get yourself sick along the way, and it won’t ever feel quite right, nor satisfying.
I’m crazy grateful to my effulgent guides.  This thing we’ve got going here with the yoga, with helping people, with getting people connected to themselves, with spontaneous joy, is for everyone, and when we connect, anything is possible.

Beautiful inspiring post. I think everyone would do better with letting our inner light shining through… :)
